Shri Kamlesh D. Patel, known worldwide as Daaji, is the global guide of Heartfulness meditation. He began his spiritual journey in 1976 under Shri Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur, known as Babuji Maharaj, and later continued under his successor, Chariji. Since 2014, Daaji has guided Heartfulness as it has expanded to more than 160 countries through thousands of certified meditation trainers.

In his talks and writings, Daaji presents Jain wisdom as a practical path, emphasizing ahimsa as the cultivation of compassion, aparigraha as freedom from attachment and possessiveness, and dhyana as a journey toward the highest wisdom. He also draws attention to the connection between Rishabh Dev, the first Tirthankar, and the tradition of meditation supported by yogic Transmission, or Pranahuti. For Daaji, the Tirthankars illuminate the path of inner transformation and the evolution of consciousness.

His engagement with Jain wisdom has led to the books The Heart of Jainism and Holy Tirthankars: In the Light of Heartfulness, and the Bhagwan Rishabh Dev Chair at the Heartfulness Academy of Research and Innovation.

A bestselling author, Daaji received the Padma Bhushan in 2023 and was named the Commonwealth’s Global Ambassador for Peacebuilding and Faith in 2024.
